Rescue

We like to keep our pack together . . .
but sometimes life gets in the way

Carmel walk

As California Airedale Terrier Club (CATC) members, we do our best to help get lost Airedales back to their owners. But our rescue efforts also include rehoming Airedales, both assisting people who can no longer keep their dog and teaming with shelters when an Airedale terrier is surrendered or comes in as a stray. Breed rescue work is another facet of what we can do with the connections that our breeders and Airedale-loving members make.

When it comes to rehoming, the first step is always to reach out to your dog’s breeder. But if for some reason that isn’t an option, CATC will help connect Airedales with Airedale terrier lovers. Because that first step—reaching out to breeders—is incredibly effective, we don’t get many Airedales through rescue, but from time to time, a dog comes through our doors. Check back here for available dogs, or, for more information, contact our CATC Rescue coordinator, Virginia Smith.
